Domaine de Lesquilourié
The Domaine Lesquilourié
Domaine de Lesquilourié is situated in the Occitanie region of France. The area is steeped in history and we are proud to be right in the heart of it. For example the Albigensian Crusade took place nearby as well as the Hundred Years War. Our region interestingly enough provided the wine for Henry VIII’s table and, more recently, was the home of WWII resistance fighters who helped downed allied pilots escape through the Pyrenees. Latterly, our district has played host to many of the key Tour de France stages, racing through verdant Gaillac vineyards towards the Pyrenean hills. Our landscape is as diverse and beautiful as it is breathtaking.
In such a notable historical area, one must expect the towns and villages to reflect a degree of architectural beauty. Within a short 20-minute drive, you can find quaint townships where times seems to have stood still – and medieval fortified villages perched on precarious hill tops; many barely changed since the 12th century. In many of these picturesque cobbled laneways and squares, weekly markets are held where locals gather to talk, drink ice cold pastis and fill artisan made reed baskets with the freshest of seasonal produce. It sounds too good to be true but it is the reality of this peace of heaven and will be yours to savour when you come to stay here.
