The beautiful courtyard of the house is ideally suited
to atmospheric open air dining, particularly when illuminated
at night. There is an enclosed well in one corner (with
safety grill), and the combination of the old stone
walls and the many plants provides a special ambience.
The swimming pool measures 12.0 x 6.0 metres with a
deep end of 2.5 meters, which allows for safe diving.
There is also an integrated paddling pool with a depth
of 0.6 metres. Steps allow easy access and there is
lighting for evening dips. The pool is salinated rather
than chlorinated, so there is no problem with sore eyes.
The stone pool surround provides ample space for sunloungers,
tables and chairs, of which there is a plentiful supply.
The pool is equipped with an alarm.
The dining pavilion overlooks the pool and has steps
leading down from it to the poolside.
The garden and land surrounding the house provide plenty
of places where quiet rest is possible for anybody wishing
to escape the throng, or where children of all ages
can kick a ball around.
The woodland has a path running through it that meanders
its way down to the Candour river as it passes through
a secluded glade. At particular times of the year, the
highly prized cepe mushrooms can be found as well as
wild asparagus. The area immediately around the house
is home to many birds including numerous birds of prey,
owls and species such as golden orioles and hoopoes.
Local wildlife also includes deer and wild boar.
There is a satellite TV/radio, plus a DVD player and
video recorder. There are 2 telephone lines (suitable
for e-mail/internet connections) and a fax/printer.
The property has under-floor heating.
